Book a table
We take reservations for lunch, dinner or drinks from 3 people. For 1 or 2 people there is always room: just walk in and take a seat at the bar or at a free table. Usually the waiting time is short and most of the time we have space for everyone!

How to find us
You'll find Eetcafé 't Gasthuys at Grimburgwal 7, next to the Gebed Zonder End alley, right in the historic centre of Amsterdam.
- Metro: Rokin station is about a 2-minute walk.
- Tram: the Rokin stop is close by.
- On foot: Dam Square, the Kalverstraat, the Spui and the University of Amsterdam are all within walking distance.
- Car: parking in the city centre is limited and expensive. We recommend coming by public transport or bike.

Do you have gluten-free options?
Yes. Gluten-free bread is always available, and our fries come from a separate fryer that is used for fries only, so our fries are always gluten-free. Cross-contamination in the kitchen can never be fully ruled out, so please always tell us about your allergy.
Until what time can I have lunch at 't Gasthuys?
Lunch is served every day from 12:00 to 16:30. After that the kitchen continues with dinner until 21:30 (Friday and Saturday until 22:00). Rump steak, spare ribs, oven-baked salmon and the Caesar salad can be ordered all day.
Can I book a table?
Yes, with the Book a table button on the website, by email or by phone. With a smaller group you can also just walk in.
Do I need to book for lunch?
No, for 1 or 2 people there is always room: just walk in. Coming with 3 or more? Please book a table with the Book a table button. Groups of 8 or more send a group request and we'll email you about the options.
Can we come with a group?
Of course. Choose 'Group request' when booking and we will email you about the options.
Do you have vegetarian lunch dishes?
Yes, for example the cheese toastie (or cheese and tomato), the honey-brie toastie, the brie sandwich and the vegetarian Beyond Meat burger. Also ask about the soup of the day.
Can I have a gluten-free lunch?

Is there a terrace?
Yes, in good weather you can sit outside on our terrace on the Grimburgwal, right by the water. Inside there is always room in the brown café.

Eetcafé 't Gasthuys is at Grimburgwal 7, less than a 2-minute walk from Rokin metro station and the University of Amsterdam (Binnengasthuis). Dam Square, the Kalverstraat and the Spui are also within walking distance.
